The worst pies in London are on the menu as Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's wicked retelling of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street takes to the stage in this semi-staged production at Segerstrom Hall. What is the story?
At the center of the musical lies the titular barber. After 15 years spent in Australia for a crime he did not commit, Sweeney Todd returns to the filthy streets of London hell-bent on revenge against the judge who stole his wife and sent him away. Unfortunately for London's miserable inhabitants, his wrath turns his cutthroat razor towards innocents, whose body parts are neatly disposed of by his compatriot Mrs. Lovett, in her tasty meat pies...
