The gripping mental health ballet by Boris Eifman
The St Petersburg, Russia company make their return to Segerstrom Center this June with their lauded work, Up and Down. Truly an innovative piece for the ages, it bravely tackles the issues of mental illness and self-destruction through dance, all choreographed to the music of Berg, Schubert and Gershwin. Up and Down is the new concept for the previous listed show, as Boris Eifman's attention to detail and dedication to mastery is such that he renamed the production from "Tender Is The Night" to fit with his creative vision.
Russia's Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg present a new show from the prolific Boris Eifman, continuing his series of ballets representing psychiatric themes. Founded in 1977, the Eifman Ballet is dedicated to continuing to create new works that are experimental and push the boundaries of the language of dance.
