First opening in London in 1981 to rave reviews and going on to win a record-breaking number of awards worldwide, the musical phenomenon CATS holds the record for the longest-running musical in West End history. In addition it played 18 years on Broadway and is also the longest-running musical tour in the US. It won a record-breaking number of awards worldwide including two Olivier Awards for 'Musical of the Year' and 'Outstanding Achievement of the Year in Musicals' and seven Tony Awards.
