See what the critics had to say about Phantom of the Opera's latest tour

Undoubtedly one of the biggest hitters of the 2025/26 Broadway season, this brand new touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical has been garnering rave reviews from the cities it has already haunted on this new route since it opened in Fall 2025 in Baltimore.

Taking its cue from the recently re-tooled London production, this new staging dusts off the cobwebs while still retaining the soul of the original we know and love. Critics loved  Isaiah Bailey as the titular Opera Ghost, alongside the revitalized imaginings of the show's iconic visual elements. But don't just take our word for it, see what the critics said below:

The Phantom of the Opera Is as Thrilling as Ever on the Road
Whether you never had the chance to see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, or you saw it on every trip to New York City, this touring production is well worth revisiting Webber's cherished classic, as it makes it clear exactly why it reigned for so long on Broadway, and will continue to do so wherever it plays.
Theatremania - Baltimore

Just as magical as ever.
Some new staging, a tremendously talented cast, and a set that is filled with many magical moments. Isaiah Bailey as The Phantom is mesmerizing. He has such strength as an actor, a singer, and command of this role and the stage. The audience, like Christine, fall under his spell. "The Music of the Night" is one of my favorite songs, and Bailey kept me spellbound. The entire performance was pure excellence. Considering that performances are already selling out, i''s safe to say that this is still a tremendously popular show.
Play Off The Page - Minneapolis

The new national tour of The Phantom of the Opera feels less like a revival and more like a return to the original production that took Broadway by storm in 1988.
...The success of this production is clearly anchored by Isaiah Bailey's commanding, emotionally rich performance as the Phantom. Between his performance and the amazingly strong supporting cast, it's a time to see Phantom if you never have, and time to return to the music of the night if you have. This touring production uses the revitalized staging first seen in London, but exuding of the original Broadway production. It's all here: the grand chandelier, the Phantom's lair and indeed the setting for the masquerade....In short, this national tour is strong and clearly respects the strong production values and talents audiences have come to expect from this classic musical and this show exceeds all expectations.
Around The Town - Chicago

What makes this production so satisfying is its balance of scale and intimacy. Yes, it's grand - everything about Phantom is designed to impress - but it also finds time for quiet, tender moments. The Phantom's gentle touch as he guides Christine's voice, the stillness when she removes his mask, the hushed anguish of the final scene these are moments that remind you why this story has endured for nearly four decades.
DC Theater Arts

Isaiah Bailey is a moving "Phantom," fully able to inhabit the, well, operatic requirements of the role while offering some gentleness at the same time and Jordan Lee Gilbert's more accessible Christine is no pushover, even as Gilbert beautifully hits all comers and goers within the part's famous vocal range. Midori Marsh adds an uncommon note or two of humanity to the trampled-upon role of Carlotta.
Chicago Tribune

It still offers everything fans want and expect, bringing the show back to its Hal Prince origins, nearly flawless in its execution again, it will run even smoother with time proving once and for all that love, and The Phantom of the Opera, never dies.
