Shanghai Ballet's The Butterfly Lovers is a balletic retelling of an ancient Chinese folktale, in which two lovers' undying devotion to eachother eventually leads to heartrending consequences; you can see why it's described as the Chinese Romeo and Juliet, despite being many centuries older than Shakespeare's play. The company that brings this work to North America, Shanghai Ballet, is famous the world over, having performed all around the globe and winning international medals in the process.
